Talks

Since taking part in the Great British Sewing Bee, Mark has been bringing his lively and entertaining talks to groups and workshops around the country.  During his talk ‘A Sewing Odyssey’ Mark brings to life what it’s like taking part in the much loved BBC show, his own personal journey from a child challenged academically, into the sewing room and what life has been like since. His talk is brought to life with a selection of his makes from the series, so if you have a favourite of his, do let him know and maybe it can be brought along.  A Q&A is held at the end for those burning questions you may have or you could chat to Mark privately afterwards.  

Alternatively, Mark also offers an honest and open talk about mental health in his talk ‘One Stitch at a Time’, during which he shares his own personal experiences. He talks about how sewing and music have helped him through the most difficult periods. Linking it to his career in banking through to the GBSB and beyond, it makes for an engaging, compelling and very honest evening.

Workshops

Mark has a wealth of experience in teaching, having previously taught Piano and music theory, and since leaving the GBSB he has brought his sewing and creative skills to the class room too. You can regularly find Mark teaching at the Knitting and Stitching/Sewing for Pleasure/Creative Craft shows across the country as well as workshops held in well known haberdashery and sewing centres too.
